The Wee Cardinal

A new cardinal juvenile was first seen on, what, Saturday?—sitting near the feeder and chirping, chirping, chirping, while it did the little side-wing flutter that the babies do to get their parents' attention. Dad soon arrived and tenderly fed the wee one in between snacks of his own at the feeder.

This last is cloudy, but it shows the dad putting the food right in the little one's beak. I saw them again yesterday, but there were two babies! All told, I think there are five new cardinals this year, in various stages of newness.
