In the kitchen sink this evening I found an ant carrying another ant. I couldn't tell if the carried ant was alive or dead. If alive, was it injured and being taken back to the nest to be nursed back to health, or cared for till it dies? If dead, was it being carried away in state for some dead ant ritual, or perhaps to become food? The ways of ants are mysterious, indeed.
