I’m Back

Who am I? Where am I? And where have I been for the last 4 years? Everything is different now...why can’t I access my iPad photos for this blog? What the heck?? This old image will have to do for now...

So many things have happened in the last 4 years. Callie and Jessie, the two older dogs, are long gone now, and tiny-headed Charles has joined the household. Hamilton Cat is also gone (a victim of Chagas disease? I’m investigating) and young Bobby Goren Cat is the newest kid on the block. Fritz Cat has become very old (but nobody else here is aging. No one. No. Not at all.). Our giant Afghan pine died and had to be cut down this summer. The woodpecker tree has almost entirely disintegrated and rarely do I see golden-fronted woodpeckers in the area any more. The hillbilly hot tub likewise disintegrated. The frogs left, though I salvaged a lot of tadpoles and got some new frogs in the temporary mini-pond, and a new pond is almost finished. Maybe more photos will come one day soon if Blogger plays nicely with my devices.

Brown Recluse at Midnight

Found in the closet Friday night as I was taking off my shoes. Time to clean out the dang closet!

Spider Tunnel in the Yucca

These spiders live in tunnely webs among grasses and bushes and, in this case, a yucca.

I didn't see the second spider at the top of the tunnel until I looked at the photos . . . now that I've looked more, I think it's dead, and the other spider has taken up residence.

There is another one of these in the yucca by the front porch . . . the spider is recently gone, so now I'm waiting to see if someone else comes along and moves in.

The Black Wasps

These guys are all over this hanging plant on the porch . . . they might be living in it, for all I know. And they favor that one particular stem more than any other stem. What gives? Who are they? What do they like about it?!?

Hamilton on the Arch

This is more like a Maxfield Parrish painting than any photo I've ever taken. Thank you, beautiful evening.
