I have forgotten whatever it is I was looking at near the base of the pine tree that led me to this wee, fascinating beetle. He did not stay long, for which I was not entirely ungrateful, as the many pine needles on the ground were not very comfortable for lying on.
The above photo isn't very good, but shows the bug's underneath bits.
This stink bug later made himself apparent odoriferously.
