Oh sure, it's just sitting there NOW, but many times on Thursday they swooped just inches from my head as I sat outside.

Hummingbird in the House!

A couple of weekends ago, when it turned cool and we turned off the AC and opened up the doors and windows but had not yet put the screen up on the front door, a little hummingbird flew in the house and stayed in the big room all afternoon. Here he is sitting on the antler chandelier; he did not take kindly to my photographic efforts, nor our efforts to gently guide him back to the great outdoors. Finally, after many hours, he figured it out on his own.

Hummingbirds Are Suddenly Back with a Vengeance

Hamilton and his mouth (photo of that to come) almost got one of these little guys this evening; fortunately I heard, and there was no carnage. I thought his birding days were over; perhaps this was just a fluke.
