Sitting out here with Lo, I just saw a bee pick up & carry away a small bit of hardboiled egg yolk that had fallen to the ground a few minutes before. How odd!
I found this bee floating in my milky coffee on the patio today. I got it out, then dipped it in my water, thinking it might help. Then I put it down on the chaise cushion and watched it clean and dry itself.
It finished up and flew away right after I took the photo below.
Delay in posting due to overlong (but good) business trip to Michigan. I am SO glad to be home...I missed my cats and insects.
Back to some Lake Watauga photos again...I am still going through them all. Here, A Bee. Love those giant leg-pod things. Bee experts everywhere are cringing at my lack of knowedgeable bee vocabulary; however, that lack does not negate my love of and fascination by them.
These photos are dark. I will continue stalking the giant bee in hopes of getting some better shots. I'm not even sure it IS a bee...its wings are somehow unbeelike. And it's huge.
Hugh took photos tonight of the bees swarming the Texas sotol, which finally has produced its full-on polleny goodness for our beloved bees and other neighborhood insects.
